Description
Giorgio Morandi was an Italian painter and printmaker who specialised in still life scenes of simple and was noted for his tonal subtlety. For ‘Still Life’ Morandi used a muted colour palette ranging from brown to orange to cream. Morandi kept a supply of vases, bottles, and jars in his studio which he used as models for many of his paintings. Although he repeated studies of the same items, Morandi created a sense of timelessness.
