‘Safe Journey is inspired by watching the fishing boats come in to our local beach. Hastings has the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe! In this painting I have used many layers of paint, built up and scraped back to partially reveal the ‘under – painting’. This creates lots of lovely textures and a great sense of movement.’ Louise Body
