Description
‘The Estuary’ was painted in 1935 by L.S Lowry who is recognised for his portrayals of busy urban landscapes. Lowry also had a life long fascination with open water and often painted waterscapes even if it meant depicting a more tranquil environment. The majority of this painting focuses on a boat floating on a ghost-like river within the rural countryside, however Lowry has also been sure to included his colourful matchstick like figures. This print is colour matched to the original painting and approved by The Lowry. Every purchase supports the work of the gallery.
