Egon Schiele was a major 20th century figurative painter from Austria who produced a plethora of vibrant paintings and drawings, the large majority of which depict the nude female form. For ‘Dancer (Die Tanzerin)’ Schiele used colour sparingly, focusing on the sinuous weaving black lines.
